Apart from his position as innholder of the Gruener Baum Mr. Halbmayr
also operates a distillery in St. Valentin.
On the typical square-shaped farm with the traditional name Gerstmayr the production of cider has a long history. Since 1990 the production became professional. The distillery is run intensely since the modern facility was bought in 1993.
In the centre of the district Mostviertel in the Enns-Donauwinkel many variations of fruit ripen which are then used for the processing. These products are homemade (distilled) on Mr. Halbmayr`s farm. To achieve excellent quality only fully ripened and selected fruit is used. Besides schnappses and liqueurs pear- and apple cider is produced.
