That must be Austria!

You have been waiting long for this moment. You have planned your holiday and chosen one of the most beautiful regions in the world. Zell am See is the regional capital of Pinzgau - one of five counties of the state of Salzburg. The city with a population of 10,000 inhabitants of the city is an important holiday destination in all of Austria and is among the top names of international recreation. In the immediate surroundings are other famous tourist destinations among Kaprun, Saalbach and Kitzbühel.

But you do not have to wander far since the good is around the corner!

Zell am See is at about 800 meters above sea level on a small peninsula right on the same named lake (about a 2 minute walk from the Hotel Grüner Baum). The water of the lake has drinking water quality and the lake is popular with its 12 km surroundings among runners, Nordic walkers, rollerbladers and cyclists. The four and a half square miles of Lake Zell offers excellent swimming conditions. Also the fishermen splash about in their boats in the early hours of the morning and during the day the electric boats, pedal boats, the sailing boats and the official boats of the Zeller Seeschifffahrt.

In the west of Zell am See the Schmittenhöhe (2,000 meters), one of Austria's most famous ski mountains, towers into the heights. Besides skiing the Schmittenhöhe is the starting point for beautiful walks with a variety of romantic cabins.

On the opposite side of the lake - above the village Thumersbach - is the striking Zeller landmark mountain: the Hundstein - ideal for hikers and popular with mountain bikers! In the south Zell am See borders on the one hand the municipality Bruck - the starting point for Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse and the partner municipality Kaprun. The Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun is the easternmost glacier skiing resort in the Alps and the dam walls of the Tauernpower plants in the valley are one of the most impressive attractions in Austria. There are more sights and destinations in the National Park Hohe Trauern - such as the Krimmler Waterfalls or the Wildpark Ferleiten.

Zell am See also offers its guests a variety of events in summer and winter and is also a stylish city with a cool nightlife or various business events. You see Zell am See offers just "more" than a holiday!
