Some time ago we at Restaurant Grüner Baum joined the Gourmet Initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry and are now a "gourmet host" in the so called Genuss Region Österreich. On joining we can complete our philosophy - to present regional and seasonal dishes on the menu - with the possibility to access high-quality products from 113 gourmet regions in Austria. Our menu offers refined products from local producers as well as from the most varied gourmet regions.
TIP: Besides being an innkeeper of the Grüner Baum, the innkeeper and Hotelier Karl Halbmayr has been operating a distillery for several years in an old traditional farm house in St. Valentin in Lower Austria. In addition to various noble brandies, liqueurs, musts and fruit juices are produced, which have already received several awards - including the Golden Stamperl for apple brandy stored in wood. Tasting is possible by appointment directly at our guesthouse or hotel. You are welcome to purchase the various spirits and juices. Maybe a nice gift for those had to stay at home?
