The history of our business in Zell am See is a long one, which goes back a couple of generations but it was not always a Hotel. It began with our grandparents who started-up and ran a butcher shop business, which is still trading and owned by our family today. From these beginnings the business branched out and the restaurant and the hotel Grüner Baum evolved and developed. Nowadays our family butcher continues to produce fresh meats and tasty meat products, which are transformed into delicious, traditional specialties on our restaurant menu.
Hotel Grüner Baum – the “Genusswirt” in Zell am See
We have recently joined the Austrian Food Ministry’s “Genussinitiative”. This was established for businesses that appreciate the culinary value of using high quality produce in their food production and restaurant dishes. As a consequence, we are pleased to carry the title of a “Genusswirt”. We are thus expanding our range of quality products and foods to include high-quality products from up to 113 nominated regions In Austria. We are now sourcing our specialties from all over Austria not just regional and seasonal food from within the province of Salzburg.
